Older Skiers Just Keep On Skiing!

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Members of Over The Hill Gang, International will be coming from all over the world this season to ski together at Big Sky, Park City, Taos, Sun Valley and other destinations. This active group of older skiers will also travel to Austria, Italy, Alaska, and to major resorts in Colorado to have a great time on the slopes together.

Skiers over the age of 50 who enjoy the companionship of others their age on the slopes have been enjoying ski outings with Over the Hill Gang International since 1977. This year the group of more than 5,000 members offers 17 fully escorted ski trips plus five summertime adventure trips in 2004. And skiers don’t have to be experts to enjoy OTHGI's trips -- the average member is age 63 and an intermediate skier.

Season-opener trips include a ski clinic for men at Breckenridge and, at the same time, a separate clinic for women at Winter Park, Colorado. Later in the season is a week with the famed ski school at Taos.

OTHGI ski trips range in price from less than $1,000 to more than $4,000 for a two-week ski trip to Austria and Italy. Prices include lift tickets, first-class hotel accommodations, social activities, some meals, mountain guides and OTHGI hosts. On ski days, skiers divide into groups of similar skiing ability so that no one is left out. All the ski trips include mountain guides for each group of skiers. And if someone is traveling alone, OTHGI can usually match them with a roommate.

Other outdoor adventures scheduled for the 2003-04 season include a bicycling tour in Europe, hiking in England, and golfing in Portugal.
OTHGI’s trips and other activities are open to members only but anyone can join this physically active, young-at-heart group if they are at least 50 years old. Spouses can be younger and still be members. Membership fees start at $50 per year and decrease with membership renewal.
